"With Crossgate, our customers can send orders via EDI and we can read them without any problems in our SAP environment. I'm very satisfied with how the implementation has improved our ability to interface with our customers and process all purchase orders, shipping notifications and invoices. We also saved approximately $700,000 in license fees compared with our old global contract,"

Serving over 60 enterprise customers in the U.S, Freudenberg, a cleaning products company based in Northlake, Ill., has been in business selling well-known O-Cedar cleaning products since 1906 and has continued to provide competitively priced and "hard-working" cleaning products. Freudenberg was the first company to produce an oil-treated dust mop, to market the squeeze-action sponge mop, and to introduce a lightweight, washable plastic angle broom.

In order to maintain its commitment to product and customer service excellence as the company expanded in the U.S., Freudenberg realized that it needed a global EDI solution that was easy to deploy, seamless to customers during deployment and would support numerous user interfaces utilized by its customers, many of whom are Fortune 500 companies.

"We were pleasantly surprised at the speed that Crossgate showed. Nine out of ten of our dealers now receive invoices electronically, and in a legally valid form due to the qualified signature. All companies that are not yet connected for electronic data interchange receive invoices promptly by mail at first, which was also taken on by Crossgate. But the automation strategy doesn't end with sending: In the coming year, incoming invoices are also going to be digitized."

Thomas Riech, General Manager Finance, Accounting & Controlling

"The scalability and flexibility of the system has convinced us: We are - like our industry - always in motion and we therefore need a solution that is quick and easy to adapt and expand. Especially here we profit from Crossgate's expertise," says Holger Geroneit, head of accounts payable at Lanxess.

Crossgate digitizes all incoming invoices. With its partner Scanpoint, the incoming paper-based invoices are scanned, the content extracted by optical character recognition (OCR), and the data is validated against existing Purchase Order information. The next steps in the process, the checking of the invoices and logging are supported by a mailbox logic system and electronic workflows. The approval workflow takes place via the web between accounting and the respective internal end user. Thanks to Crossgate's professional rollout and project management, a total of 14 of the chemical group's subsidiaries profited within a very short time.

Crossgate installed the relevant technology for Lanxess at its sites in Leverkusen, Antwerp and Barcelona. As a result around 260,000 documents from 2,500 suppliers are processed per year. Moreover, Crossgate not only takes over the new incoming data, but also the legacy archive with more than three million pages.
